Compare the size waist measurement to your own waist measurement

For this model, you choose the size according to the waist width. The hip width is not needed because the skirt has free width. Take your waist measurement with a tape measure. Hold the measuring tape tight enough and remember to breathe.

Suggested fabric

The pattern is adapted for woven fabrics. Most light weight woven fabrics are suitable for this model. Cotton, linen, light weight wool, viscose fabrics, silk and polyester, patterned or plain – choose what you like best. Firmer fabrics give a stiffer and larger impression, soft fabrics cause the skirt to fall in a nice way.

Some fabrics can shrink in the wash, so please wash your piece of fabric before cutting.

How to calculate fabric consumption

Fabrics are almost always 140 – 150 cm (55-59 in) wide. Calculate how long a piece of fabric you need.

Learn to make a length calculation according to the model below. You can also bring your traced pattern pieces to the fabric store if you need some help.

1 skirt length = measure from the waist down to the (supposed) hem of the skirt you want.

Full circle skirt – 2,5 skirt lengths (fabric and lining count equally). Add 10 cm (4 inches) extra to each skirt length.

Example in cm: Your skirt should be 60 cm long from the waist.

60 cm x 2,5 + 25 cm = 175 cm (1,75 m).

Example in inches: Your skirt should be 23,6 inches long from the waist.

23,6 in x 2,5 + 9,8 = 68,8 in

Note! Size 42, 44 and 46 require that the fabric width is at least 150 cm (59 in) wide! If the fabric is narrower or if you want the skirt longer than on the pattern, you need to splice the skirts fabric in the side at the bottom (applies to all sizes).

Example in cm: Your skirt should be 60 cm long from the waist.

60 cm x 2 + 20 cm= 140 cm (1,40 m).

• 0,20 m/10 in fusing/interfacing for the waistband
• 1 button
• Other "good to have", optional:
  Marking pen for fabric where the marking is easy to remove with water or alternatively disappears by itself (so-called trick marker).
  Glue pen to fasten together corners or seam allowances before various sewing steps (e.g. zipper sewing).
  "Wondertape" to help attach hems or other tricky things.
