60's nostalgia with variations. Moderate sewing skills.

Sew the dress with lenghtwise darts to get a form fitted dress. Skip the darts and you have an A- line shape! Choose a different neckline or a small collar. Vary with different buttons and three different sleeve lengths, side pockets or patched pockets.

Length from shoulder according to the pattern is about 105 cm.
Design A:

Classic simple dress with square front neckline. Zipper in the back and pockets in side seams.
Design B:

Tough dress with round neckline.

Heavy zipper in center front and pockets in side seams.
Design C:

Shirt dress in a plain vintage cut, small collar, button front and patched pockets with decorative edges. You can sew the collar and pocket edges in different fabrics.

Suggested fabric:

The dress can be sewn in almost any fabric - wool, cotton, linen, fine corduroy, faux suede, denim etc. Choose a slightly stretchy fabric for more freedom of movement. Woven fabrics can also be cut on the bias (place the on-grain arrow on the pattern at a 45 degree angle).

Fabric required at 140 – 150 cm cloth width:

The patterns dress length is about 105 cm from the shoulder, but of course you can make it longer or shorter according to taste.

• Design A, B and C:

On fabrics without nap or one-directional layout sizes 34-46 - 1 dress length + 1 sleeve length, i e about 1,80 meters if you use the pattern length. On fabrics with nap or one-directional layout - 2 dress lengths, i e about 2,50 meters if you use the length of the pattern.

On any kind of fabric sizes 48-60 - 2 dress lengths + 1 sleeve length (length of your choice), i e about 2,50 meters if you use the pattern length and a long sleeve.

• Design C:

Collar and pocket edges: 0,30 m fabric.

If you want to cut the dress on bias for a softer, slightly higher drape and for it to move more freely – double yardage!

To complete the garment:

• Bias cut bindings for the neckline 0,7 m (looks better if you cut your own bindings from the fabric remnants - see the end of the instruction)! Or use the neckline facing piece which you copy from the front- and back piece of the
• Sewing thread and overlock tread in matching
• Soft interfacing for facings, collar and pocket decor
• Design A:

1 zipper for the center back seam, 50 cm long. Preferably of the invisible type. Note if you sew this design without the lengthwise darts, you may not need a zipper! Baste the front and back pieces together and try it on!

• Design B:

Separating zipper to center front, 70 – 80 cm long.

• Design C:

7 front edge buttons, or as many as you want.
